Agriculture Award established to honor David C Stearns

The Willimantic Rotary Club is establishing the Willimantic Rotary Club/David C Stearns Memorial EO Smith Agriculture Award.  This award is established in honor and grateful memory of long time Rotarian, David Stearns, who passed away earlier this year.  David was an agricultural businessman with Mountain Dairy, operated in Storrs, CT by his family for almost 150 years.  David was a man of great integrity and a generous spirit.  We are working with the EO Smith Agriculture faculty to select a graduating senior entering college who will be pursuing a career in agriculture and lives after the manner of David's example.  The award will be presented at a May 22 Agriculture Banquet at EO Smith.  If you would like to contribute financially to this award, please indicate so on your gift.  Mail it to Wmtc Rotary, Box 104, Willimantic, CT 06226, or bring it to lunch in a coming week.
